High Precision Bike Skin
Applying a bike skin involves a meticulous process to ensure the bike's surface is fully protected and aesthetically pleasing. It begins with accurately measuring the bike's frame and fork, followed by designing a custom template in Adobe Illustrator to match these dimensions.
The template is then precisely cut using a cutter plotter, which guarantees a high-quality cut. The final step is the application of a polymeric protective film that not only shields the bike from wear and tear but also provides UV protection, maintaining the bike's appearance over time.
Polymeric films, such as those made from polyurethane or PVC, are widely used for bike frame protection. These films are designed to shield the bike frame from scratches, dings, and other forms of damage that can occur during riding, transportation, or storage. The application process is generally straightforward, and many cyclists opt for these protective films to extend the life and appearance of their bikes.
Bike braze-ons allows for the attachment of various accessories such as water bottle cages, racks, and fenders. These attachment points are typically integrated into the frame during the manufacturing process and can be made from different materials to match the frame's construction.
With all the process involved in terms of preparation, drafting, customizations, adjustments, cutting and bike skin application, it will take a minimum of TWO WEEKS to complete.
Yes. It is a delicate process, but we are equipped with the right tools and techniques to effectively remove the old film. We will use heat gun to gently warm the film, making it easier to peel off without leaving too much residue. Once the film is removed, a three-step polishing process can begin: starting with a cleaning compound to remove any superficial dirt or scratches, followed by a fine polish to smooth out the surface, and finally, a protective wax to seal and shine. This method ensures that the bike not only looks good but is also protected from the elements.
